Christmas Jumper – Finished Yippee!!!

Well I did it, I managed to finish my jumper for #xmasjumperday. I am so pleased with how it has turned out.

I was convinced it wasn’t going to fit together when I sewed it up or that it would be too small, but I am happy to say it has come out fab, even if I don’t say so myself! I have to confess I had a little help from my mum, she knitted my sleeves for me!!

I added a couple of embellishments to my finished jumper:

I learnt many things whilst knitting this project and I won’t be knitting myself another garment in dk yarn for a very long time!!!

The pattern used was out of the Wendy Festive Knits Book (340). I used King Cole Glitz as my main colour and the White eyes, Hayfield DK with Wool for the Reindeer and Country Style DK for the dark brown areas.

My Christmas Jumper!

Last year I desperately wanted to knit myself a Christmas Jumper, however I deliberated and deliberated and then it was too late!

So this year I decided I would start early and make myself a jumper ready for #xmasjumperday on the 13th December! Back in September I decided on my pattern and picked my yarn. I also attended a workshop about knitting with colour…it is a good job as I would have had no clue how to do the pattern.

After the workshop I was raring to go and set myself a target of the end of October to finish the front…well it is now November and I am almost done…with the front!

I have used a Wendy pattern, King Cole Glitz for the main jumper and white areas, Hayfield DK with wool and Sirdar Country Style Dk for the other colours. The King Cole Glitz has knitted up really well, it is very soft for an acrylic yarn.
