Toy Story Land opening date announced!!!
The date of Toy Story Land at Disney Hollywood Studios was announced live on Good Morning America on Friday, February 16th…June 30th, 2018. Disney even brought a piece of the land to New York City’s Times Square – Slinky Dog 🐕. Slinky Dog Dash is one of the new attractions, along with Alien Swirling Saucers. The ever-popular Toy Story Midway Mania has been open since 2008 and will receive a new entrance within the land once the land opens.

How exciting, but at the same time how frustrating…we will be in Walt Disney World from June 1st thru’ 15th 🙁. On the bright side more reason to go again…soon!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
My favourite park…until our previous two trips 😕
Whenever on vacation at Disney, this used to be my go to park, I would go here whenever I got the chance. However, on my last two trips I just haven’t been feeling the love for DHS.
There have been many rumours about changes to DHS for a while now but they seem to be becoming a reality, have a look at this article.
So many attractions are closing and just this past week another one has been announced – The Magic of Disney Animation. I love this building as it houses several character meet and greets as well as the Animation Academy. I love going and learning how to draw the characters so I will be sad to see this attraction close. I also used to love the Backlot tour it was great being able to go backstage and see the props and ‘working’ studios.
The rumours this week further suggest a Star Wars Land and maybe Pixar Land. I look forward to these attractions coming to life however, I am intrigued to see how they manage this expansion as DHS is already a small overcrowded park.

Disney to do list – how did I do?!!?
So a few months ago I wrote a post with my Disney to do list…well I have been and come back…and its seems an age ago! How did I do?
- Visit all 4 parks in one day! – I did not manage this one…although I did do 3 parks several times
- Ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – Done, it is a great ride, however, it just isn’t long enough!!
- Watch Festival of Fantasy Parade – Done – I loved this parade, Maleficient the Dragon is awesome…it breathes fire!!
- Eat a French Pastry in France – Done – Chocolate Chip Brioche from Les Halles Boulangerie
- Enjoy an Ice Cream Sundae at MK – I had 2 (not on the same day though!)
- Have a Nutella, Strawberry and Banana Waffle Sandwich from Sleepy Hollow in MK – I had this twice…they were absolutely delish 🙂
- Eat a Carrot Cake Cookie from The Writer’s Stop @ Hollywood Studios – Even though I wasn’t really hungry I ate one of these whilst I waited for the Osbourne Spectacle of Lights
- Win a game on Toy Story Midway Mania! – Done, but I’m sure he let me win!!!
- Have a Hot Chocolate from Ghiradelli – Did not manage this one…due to the construction at DTD we did not spend much time there.
- See the Osborne Spectacle of Lights switch on – Done…just, I managed to make it on their last night, it was awesome…I love the music and snow it is so magical.
- Watch the Fireworks at either MK or EPCOT (ideally both!) – We watched the MK fireworks from our balcony when we stayed at the Grand Floridian
- Afternoon Tea in the Garden View Tea Room at Disney’s Grand Floridian – Done – this was amazing…we had the Princess Kate Tea, we will definitely be back
Off to plan our next trip 🙂
